In Bloom

We put a lot of plants in the ground after Joe got the fence constructed in the fall of last year. They were all splits from our John and Sherry, and it was a quick blur of an effort to get them in the ground while we had a babysitter. So, we were pretty excited to see green plant life sprout up this spring! Add in the excitement of a (so far) successful seed starting operation, we are so happy now that there are blooms in the yard. Here is what is currently popping:
Giant iris

P1100254
Dark purple columbine
P1100255
P1100247
And our salvia that overwintered in this pot
P1100214
And our leggy, unmanicured rose bush
P1100329

And a brand new edition has already bloomed. We planted 2 giant rhododendron plants along the property line when the grass boundary went in the ground. They are supposed to get up to 10 feet tall and 8 feet wide and bloom in 2 shades of purple. Yes, please! One has already shown us what it will be doing

Not a ton, but it is still early, and at least what we have planted and transplanted look healthy and happy! Also, my love for purple evidently carries into everything we do...
