Field "Fashion"

Oh.. crap, it's March already!? That means I have one month to get ready for my trip back to Madagascar. Mostly what that means is I need to hit the gym daily and continue to carefully plan my packing. I have a real challenge ahead of me on this trip. Not only do I need to pack for 2 weeks in the field, but I also will have 1 week at a conference. Now, I have only been to a handful of conferences before this one so I am a bit stuck on what exactly conference wear might be, especially in my field. Botanists are not known for their stunning fashion sense... But it will be in a conservative African country, that is also very poor. What am I getting at? I need clothing that is presentable, but not flashy. Travels well (it will be packed for at least a month before it gets to breathe again), comfortable in the tropics and attractive (who wants to look horrible while giving a presentation?).

I got this idea from another blogger, Short and Curvy, a fellow curvy girl who does an amazing job finding deals and looking great:
Pencil skirt, camisole and cardigan. Depending on the shoe and the fabric choices this classic combination can be fancy or casual.

The pencil skirt is something the ladies at Academichic definitely endorse.
